We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Terminal Manager at our Baton Rouge terminal located in Baton Rouge, LA.
 
 
 
Core duties include:
Direct and coordinate activities of terminal employees to provide cost effective, timely, quality service to customers. Investigate customer complaints and resolve problems. Interview, select, train, and assign new personnel. Enforce compliance of all company policies and procedures, safety rules and governmental regulations. Review and analyze expenditure, financial and operations reports to determine requirements for increasing profits and improving processes. Ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends as necessary.

Basic Function This position is responsible for merchandise handling such as loading, securing, delivering, setting up, troubleshooting, and demonstrating.  Reviewing lease agreements is also occasionally required.   Reporting Reports directly to the General Manager (or Sales Manager with GM direction)   Primary Responsibilities The Acquisition and Maintenance of Customers Verify correct product and accessories for delivery or return Ensure that all merchandise is clean and in operating condition prior to delivery Review necessary information sheets Load, secure and protect product in delivery vehicle Offload, install and demonstrate merchandise Ensure that delivery schedule is followed Deliver merchandise to customers' homes and businesses-without additional damage Assist with merchandise returns-load and service product in vehicle Perform routine service calls and product exchanges Clean and certify merchandise in the Certification Zone for all items personally returned Maintaining the store's warehouse in a neat and orderly manner Assist in maintaining the showroom floor as per company guidelines Safely operate delivery vehicle Document all vehicle movement on daily route sheets Conduct daily inspection of assigned delivery vehicle to ensure safety and maintenance guidelines are met Confirm customer identification, collect money and obtain customers' signature on lease agreements Assist in field marketing programs as requested by store management Deliver prescribed company advertisements/flyers when in field (5 up 5 down) Other tasks as assigned by management

Summary:

Responsibilities:
Procurement of structural steel shapes and plate materials from Domestic and International Mill and Distribution sources. Maintain a monthly pricing guide from Domestic and International sources, along with currency exchange rate effects and importation costs when applicable. Develop material pricing strategy with Corporate Estimating Department. Frequent contact with Facility Buyers and Material Control personnel. Some travel expected. Position will report to VP Structural Steel Operations.

Qualifications/Competencies/Experience:
Has in-depth knowledge of work processes and tools within own area.
Uses operational and supervisory expertise to solve problems within own area.
Interprets customer needs and assesses requirements.
Works within budget to meet operational objectives set by manager.
Resolves routine problems using defined processes and own experience.
5-10 years of Experience.
Computer and supervisory skills.
