Responsibilities:


Design course curriculum materials for lessons in Fashion Design

Plan and deliver these lessons in a clear and appropriate manner

Monitor and endeavor to maintain high student moral and motivation

Ensure student discipline

Assist with school promotional activities


Requirements:


Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent from a recognized academic institution

5 years industry experience with a credible portfolio

Preferably 2 years lecturing experience in Fashion Communication & Co-ordination, Fashion Design, Illustration, Pattern Drafting & Draping, Sewing Techniques, or other relevant areas of study

Dynamic and enthusiastic, with an interest to nurture students and to help them achieve their potential

Creative with an ability to adapt to a multi-cultural setting and to handle students of different nationalities

Willing to relocate to one of our Asian campus

Must have a passion in teaching.

Job Description


 

Title: Lecturer, Biomedical Science

Job purpose: To carry out research, teaching and administration within the Biomedical Science Department.

 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

1.       Monitor and endeavour to maintain high student morale and motivation at all times, both in the Employee’s specific classes and the School in general.

 

2.       Work as necessary to achieve the successful day-to-day operation of classes and the maximum progress of students under the responsibility of the Employee.

 

3.       Assist in maintaining general school discipline and the overall operational stability, integrity and professional image of the School.

 

4.       Monitor and enforce student attendance and punctuality.

 

5.       Counsel individual students regarding attendance, punctuality, academic progress, professional development, and behaviour as required and in co-operation with the Programme Director, Administration and Student Services Manager, Principal/Vice Dean, and College President.

 

6.       Liase with parents or employers if necessary and appropriate and provide both informal and formal school reports as required.

 

7.       Maintain accurate and up-to-date records.

 

8.       Advise/notify the Programme Director, Principal/Vice Dean, or Administration and Student Services Manager on any matter of which you are aware which relates either directly or indirectly to your teaching position, school programmes and/or curriculum, school equipment, students, or general school matters.

 

9.       Maintain confidentiality in matters relating to individual students.  Student matters are considered to be confidential and are to be discussed on a professional basis with senior staff only (Programme Director, Principal, Administration and Student Services Manager).  Student matters of a confidential, personal, or sensitive nature are not to be a general topic of discussion between staff.

 

10.     Assist with school promotional activities (Open House, Trade Shows, Education Fairs, etc.) as proposed by the School, both in and out of normal school hours.

 

11.     Be available to students outside normal class hours for questions and individual consultant for a reasonable period of time each week.  Times can be set in conjunction with the Programme Director.

 

12.     Be diligent in conducting of classes.  The Employee will be punctual for classes and other activities, ensure complete class sessions according to course schedules and notify the School (except in emergencies) as early as possible with respect to absences.

 

13.     Abide by the School’s Policies and Procedures.

 

Requirements:


Possess recognized Bachelors Degree and Masters in Biomedical Science or related disciplines.


2.  At least 5 years industry experience with preferably 2 years lecturing experience in a similar capacity.


Can adapt to a multi-cultural setting with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to handle students of different nationalities.

Academic Director

- Based in Asia Pacific –

Job purpose:

To provide local academic leadership on the development, operation and quality assurance of Raffles University’s degree programmes and other third party universities (at that local site) and act as the chief academic liaison between the designated REC education unit and Raffles University.  The Candidate will be expected to promote and deliver the Master of Design and Commerce Programmes, oversee the quality assurance of all programmes delivered through Raffles Design Institute.

 

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:


Local quality assessment of the academic programmes

Monitoring operations

Monitoring of all students admitted to the programme in accordance with RU General Regulations

Monitoring of enrolment and registration processes

Monitoring induction of students

Liaising with the RU Assistant Registrar

Ensuring that all marketing and publicity material for the programme is forwarded to RU for approval

Ensuring that all the changes made to the content, delivery or assessment of any modules by RU is implemented in full

To assist in promotion and delivery of the company’s master degree programs


 

Requirements:


Native speaker with a Master’s Degree or PhD in Design or Design Management discipline from a recognized University

At least 8 years' experience industry experience with a credible portfolio

The Company
Our client is a division of a $5+ Billion specialty chemical and resin manufacturing company.  This company supplies an exceptionally complete variety of resins, compounds, and specialty materials to a wide variety of markets including composites, forest products, electronic, coatings, and inks.  In most markets, they are the #1 or #2 supplier world wide.  The Operational Excellence Team has an accomplished mentoring program to assist the career growth of Black Belts.  Successful Black Belts move into operations or can become a Master Black Belt.
 
The Position
The Black Belt will lead and mentor significant growth, productivity, and cost savings projects in the client’s profitable resin business using standard global Six Sigma program tools and methods while working with functional leaders.  This Black Belt, reporting to a Master Black Belt, will support R&D, Engineering, and multiple manufacturing plants.  He/she will execute high impact projects following complex timelines using six sigma methodologies, develop project scope, objectives, and metrics that coach, mentor, and assist Green Belts and project teams.  The Black Belt will also help deliver Green Belt training in support of the business training plan in conjunction with the company's mindset initiative.  In addition, the Black Belt will work closely with the Master Black Belt to deploy Six Sigma across all business functions as well as work with process owners to translate functional goals into Six Sigma strategies, projects, and quantifiable results.  The candidate will receive black belt training.
 
Candidate Qualifications
The candidate must have a BS in Engineering or Science (Chem E preferred), and have a minimum of 7 - 10 years of experience in specialty chemicals, plastics, resins, and/or polymers.  Other qualifications include:

A Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt Certification
Demonstrated success as a Black Belt or Master Black Belt with a proven track record of managing and successfully completing multiple Six Sigma or lean projects within R&D, Logistics, or Manufacturing
Lean training / experience
Leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and drive consensus
Strong project management skills
Strong ability to lead and drive change
Analytical skills
Communication and presentation skills
Ability to travel up to 50%

 
Compensation
Compensation is in the $80 - $100K+ range with up to a 10-15% bonus opportunity, depending on level of experience.  In addition, the client offers a stimulating environment and an excellent opportunity to make a difference.
 
Location
This position will operate out of a Division plant facility located in one of the following areas:  Wilmington, NC; Springfield/Eugene, OR; Baton Rouge, LA; Missoula, MT; Sheboygan, WI; or Edmonton, Alberta.  Relocation assistance may be considered.
